Random Pics

Happy Birthday to me!

Blurry, but a picture of Mel at Snapperz on the trampoline
Matching pigtails! (Unmatching pajamas for Mel)....
Joey insisted on wearing Daddy's hat to bed one night.
That's how he rolls.
Sleepy kids watching a movie.  One of two nights this week Joey fell asleep downstairs.

Star of the Week

Melanie would not let me be in charge of this poster creation.  This resulted in using all
baby pictures.  But it was HER creation, and she was proud of it!

Before gymnastics class
Melanie was "star of the week" this week at preschool, which prompted me to update a little about her.  (PS - the kids rotate being star of the week; the schedule is set out ahead of time.  This is not an earned honor.  But don't tell her that).

We think that preschool has really helped bring Melanie out of her shell.  She attends for two hours a day three days a week, right across the hall from her fulltime daycare.  She has gained independence.  Some examples include: She takes gymnastics all by herself on Wednesday nights; she has never cried to go into the class, or during the class for me.  She has even gone to the bathroom by herself in the middle of class, and met older girls in the restroom, sharing her name & age.  There have been several times lately where she has seen Mommy, Grandma, or Gigi in the middle of the day at school, and gone right back to school without a fit (usually a mid-day interruption would mean she insists on staying with said interruption the rest of the day).

She is always watching out for Joey.  If she's somewhere that offers candy, she'll get him a piece too - or other similar situations.

After this gymnastics session is over, she's going into a combo class with gymnastics, ballet, and tap - should be entertaining!

Happy Birthday Aunt Sandy!

Aunt Sandy getting some help with the candles

Kids being goofy

Melanie never lets presents be opened without help.

I'm really not certain what's happening here.  This is what I walked downstairs to.
If this kid is happy, I'll gladly let him run around with no shirt on.
We were able to celebrate Aunt Sandy's birthday over the long weekend; as you can tell, the kids enjoyed the celebration.  We hope she did too!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Joey cheesing for the camera

It was a gorgeous day for a walk around the pond!

My five favorite six-and-unders, with my two favorite people of the day -
the two teachers who entertained them with crafts!

Molly was the stand-in for Joey in this grandparent/grandchild picture

A special "tree lighting" took place after dinner.

All four grandparents - Much to be thankful for!

We spent Thanksgiving at the other Carmel Worzalas' house.  Rick, Sandy, and Becky were down for the weekend, and the Doan/Miller clan was able to make it, along with the Fishers Worzalas.  It was a great day celebrating everything we have to be thankful for this year.

Joey Updates

Thanks to Joey's class at school, he is working on potty training.  He's mainly in pull-ups now (except overnight), and is doing pretty well, excusing himself most times he needs to go.  I'd say we're about 60% there..  As for Melanie, she is now out of overnight pullups, and doing a great job too!

In the dentist chair

Joey had his first dentist appointment in October, and did a great job.  I got a text after the appointment saying "Not sure who that kid was at dentist.  Totally perfect."  He got cleaned, rinsed, buffed, flossed, and flourided just like a big boy!
Before

After
I haven't taken Joey for a haircut since his very first one, so of course I had to take a million pictures of it.  Here are just two :)

Happy Halloween!

The fourth time as Snow White, Daddy got her dressed for the first time.  The only time the collar was right on the dress all weekend.  #Mommyfailure

Trick or treating!
This is Melanie's favorite part of trick-or-treating every year.
Home and warm after a CHILLY night out!
