Fall Break 2016 - Staycation

For 1st/3rd grade Fall Break, we stuck around, and took a couple of side trips.  The kids & I traveled to Holiday World for an overnight; while the water park was obviously closed, they do a great job with fall activities.  Joey even got on stage during a magic show!

The 3rd graders spent most of the year working on their "Specialty Animal" project; incorporating artwork, reports, and other disciplines while learning more about their chosen/assigned animals.  Melanie had sea turtles, and so our year was spent learning a lot about them!  Her friend Cameron from a different class also had sea turtles, so the Meyers and Worzalas headed to the Newport Aquarium in Cinci to learn more about these little guys.  

Made it to the KY/OH border for a day of fun!

The Girl Scouts sponsored a sleepover at the Speedway.  We didn't camp, but we participated in the daytime activities with friends; Melanie got to ride her bike around part of the track, and they had a lot of activities set up for the girls throughout the day

Fall Ball 2016

During Joey's first Fall Ball experience with Zionsville Little League, his team went undefeated and won the championship tournament.  It was a fun (and fast) season!

Back to School! 2016-17

Melanie starts third grade with Mrs. Valentine, and Joey has Mrs. Smith for first grade.  Holy cow, time is flying.  This year, they will go to before care at school, and then ride the bus home and be with a neighborhood sitter, Marissa.  We are off to a great start!!

2016 State Fair

We love going to the State Fair the day before school starts, since it seems the rest of the state is already back in school.  Plus, it's bracelet (ride all you can for one price) day!  It was a HOT and fun day with Molly & Gigi!

Joey was allowed a sleepover.  Ryan's mom thought it best if we did all the sleepover things, and then Ryan got picked up at 10pm.  Let's just say this was the last pic of Joey awake.  By 10pm, Ryan left and Joey got spirited up to his bed. :)
