Happy 40th Anniversary Grandma & Papa!

Love the boys' new Mexico shirts from Grandma & Papa's trip to Cancun last week
A rare moment of sitting still
New jammie excitement
Apparently jammies make Mel sleepy.
Grandma crafting with the kids
Joey really liked the cupcake

Ron & Diane celebrated forty years of marriage by skipping town and heading south!  We were able to celebrate their marriage by "catering" dinner to their house - paper plates and all - upon their return, before they head out again for the week!  We are blessed by the forty years they have put up with spent with each other, and, as Ron said, he "looks forward to the next forty!"  Happy Anniversary!!

Karate

"Take THAT, board!"
Melanie's friend Ben had his fourth birthday party at a local karate studio.  Melanie has never done karate before, and had fun learning the moves with her preschool friends.

Eagle Creek Ornithology

Checking out the cardinals.  Needless to say, before the weekend was up, binoculars were on order for both kids
Screech owl

Measuring wing span, although I can't remember what the correlated bird would be
Bard owl
Melanie's latest preschool field trip was to Eagle Creek Ornithology Center, where we visited with three different owls and a bird.  It was a really educational trip (to those who like birds), and Melanie had a great time.  Afterward, we dined with the Casterlines at Chick-Fil-A, and we had a great time having our "Mommy & Melanie Day."

Aprons; not sure why

A true Worzala, Joey adds a twist to his vacuuming with a shirtless apron look
Movie night!
The only way I could get them excited about bath time that night

Snuggle bugs

I put several Christmas presents up on Christmas Day, and recently got them out - it was like Christmas all over again!

Disney on Ice

Ready for the show to start!
Joey's face the whole first half.
Mel's face for the first thirty minutes.  Pure awe!

View from the seats - Toy Story, the kids' favorite movie(s)
We enjoyed $10 tickets to Disney on Ice on opening night.  Mickey and crew, Cars, Little Mermaid, Tinkerbell, and Toy Story were the entertainment for the night, and the kids had a great time!  Joey was asleep before we were back on 65 on the return trip - the show got over a little after 9pm; we weren't expecting an intermission!

Tap-Ballet-Gymnastics

With her two buddies, Grace C. and Grace Z.

Blurry, but a picture of her tapping
After a successful session of gymnastics in the late fall, Melanie is enrolled in a combo class of tap/ballet/gymnastics.  She is really enjoying herself, and she's one of four girls from our neighborhood in the class!  She'll continue in this class until her shoes won't fit anymore - this was quite the financial obligation :)  We are opting out of the spring recital, because I can't justify $95 for a one-time-wear outfit that does not involve being in someone's wedding party!  In the meantime, she can just have fun "practicing."

Buccaneer Bay

I bought a Groupon last year, and its promotional value was getting ready to expire, so the family made a little road trip to Lafayette for some water park fun.  Melanie loves to swim as long as she can touch - and is looking forward to swim lessons starting in May.

Crazy Kids

Just a bunch of random pictures from over the holidays that I like....

Melanie & Molly being goofy

Surprised by the millionth time the train 'talked'

Playing with the iPad on Poppy's lap

"Who wants apple pie??"
Nice skirt, Joey
Sharing some spaghetti
"Property of Worzala"

"Blizzard 2012"

We got a lot of snow starting on Tuesday night (12/25); work was even closed on Wednesday and Thursday!  I ended up taking almost TWO WEEKS off of work, which was unprecedented and fabulous.  During the break, we made at least three trips to Chick-Fil-A (indoor playground), we went to Snapperz, Monkey Joe's, and I actually got to go to a movie with Diane, we went to the Colts Game (front row!), and spent the night twice at Grandma & Papa's

All bundled up - in Joey's coat

New Year's Eve!

Lunchtime playdate with Casterlines
Princesses Ellie & Melanie at the screening of "Cinderella" at the Zionsville Performing Arts Center
Princess Melanie daintily enjoying a hotdog during the movie

For NYE, we enjoyed dinner with the Vanderburs, and then the girls went to see "Cinderella" while the boys watched football.  We had a countdown to 8pm, and then 75% of the Worzalas were in bed by 9:30pm :)  Crazy, crazy night :)
