Happy Birthday Joey!

Joseph Pierce Worzala turned four on April 25!  Some days I can't believe it's been four years since he entered our world, some days it seems like much longer ;)  Joey is a sweet, funny little guy who loves nothing more than his big sister.  Sometimes to a fault.  He loves to ride bikes, go on golf cart rides, and watch Jake & the Neverland Pirates.  He is the bravest boy I know.

I will try to track down birthday PARTY pictures - the party was a week after the actual fourth birthday.

I spent the day of Joey's birthday with him; he ended up with a fish, a fresh batch of cookies, and a balloon bouquet by the end of the day.  Balloons courtesy of the Mullens!

Happy Easter!

I was brave and hosted Easter without my parents in town this year.  We had the Elams (2), Youngs (3), Grandma & Papa, and Aunt Julie.  It was a gorgeous day, and we didn't even have to order emergency pizza!

I had to memorialize my "bunny" appetizer tray.

Melanie was very welcoming....She also did place cards so everyone would know where to sit....

Melanie's first soccer season got off to a great start - with nice weather FINALLY - the weekend of April 12.  She had games on Saturday and Sunday, and even scored a couple of goals on Saturday!  Some quotes - "I really like soccer."  "Who signed me up for soccer?  I really like it."  "Did it look like I was having fun out there?  I was!"  She also talks about the goals collectively.  Saturday, "she" scored 14 goals.  I can only figure that the two teams together scored 14.  Sunday, she said "she' scored one goal.  She clarified it was her teammate Emerson who scored it - but I like the teamwork.  Should be a fun season!

Spring Break

After a good start to spring break with nice temps and a trip to the park (see a previous post of the kids enjoying the slide!) - We spent Thursday at the Children's Museum, and then Melanie and I headed to St. Louis.  Our trip was delayed a bit because of storms coming through between Indy and St. Louis - but it worked out great because we got to spend the extra day with Joey, and still got the hotel pool (in Plainfield, IN instead of downtown St. Louis - but it's all the same to a six-year-old!)

We were in St. Louis by school pickup time on Friday, so Melanie got to see where the girls go to school, and we enjoyed a weekend with Kate & Nick and the girls.  Melanie hasn't stopped talking about them since, and is already planning our next trip to the Lou.

Joey is usually terrified of the carousel.  This trip was successful!

One of Mel's favorite parts of the Boschert house - the indoor swing!

Mel earned her first girl scout badge (she's not a GS) - by distributing bags with Elise's troop to help with toiletry donations for the needy

Meanwhile, back in Indiana - Joey is having a celebratory drink for beating Grandma in Wii.

March updates

Very out of order, but here is a synopsis of March (after, of course, Mel's exciting birthday party)

Second tooth out!  Another Monday morning - 3/21/14
Headed to neighbor Stella's horse birthday party (7th).  Cowboy hat & boots, horse purse.  Terrified of horses, left after 15 minutes.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Mel's first soccer practice!  A little chilly, but she's excited!  She's not on Alexa's team, but they practice at the same time on adjoining fields!
Parents' Night Out at ZHS to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  We went to dinner while the kids had some fun.  Bottom pics are sleepy kids on the way home - complete with face painting!
Joey took a nap under Mel's bed.  Just worth a note for my laughs.

Mel had a lot of lunch visitors in the month of March!  Visits from both Grandmas - and one from Gigi AND Poppy (no pictures of that one, unfortunately!!)

Joey, "dressed sharp" for his clinic visit.  "I'm wearing a white shirt like Daddy!"

Mel got to go with Joey to 3/31 clinic visit - both kids liked the therapy dog - notable because Mel HATES dogs!

Seattle Seahawks fans.

I can't stand this one.
