Giving Mrs. Patty one last hug

Day One of the new childcare = Successful!
After five years at Noah's Ark daycare & preschool, the kids made the transition at the end of May to their summer spots.  Melanie is attending day camp through the Monon Center (camp is at Creekside Middle School in Carmel).  On Tuesdays & Thursdays the kids go to the outdoor water park at the Monon Center, on Wednesdays, they go on field trips, and on Fridays, they have a program come into the camp (the first week was snakes!)  The field trip/vendor follows the weekly theme.  Melanie was pretty overwhelmed at first, by the new-ness of it, being one of the youngest at camp, etc.  It's also a very fast transition to having a nap every day at daycare to no nap.  Necessary for kindergarten - but we didn't have any transition between the two extremes.  She's done great, and still has the energy to go swimming every night after camp.  The weekend after the first week at camp sure produced some good naps, though!!

Joey is now at Funshine Children's Center at 96th & Shelbourne.  We have been really pleased by the teachers, curriculum, and structure.  He was still in the 2s class at Noah's Ark, and his lack of potty-training was holding him back.  At Funshine, he is in with the 3s, and hopefully that will help stretch him more.

Both kids will change again in the fall - more on that later!
