Melanie 4.5

We actually marked Mel's "half birthday" this year - with mini-cupcakes.  She had the day off school for her half-birthday (It was Labor Day :)

Now that Mel is 4.5, she can read books to her younger cousins

How does she keep her feet in the air while she sleeps??

Melanie knows a lot of things now that she's 4.5 years old.  Or at least that's what she'll tell you.  She loves to practice writing, and her favorite movie is "Rio" (this was actually the first movie I took her to see in the cinema, but we left before it really got started.  Now she says she "loves" it and "it's beautiful.")  She has a new appreciation for bike riding - she even rode to the grocery store with Jeff one weeknight.  She continues to be such a little "mommy" to Joey - she'll do anything for that kid, and often asks him if he's okay, explains things to him, etc.  I will no longer buy her clothes without her being with me; I recently cleaned out her closet and drawers, and to replenish, we had to go shopping - TOGETHER - since she won't wear anything she doesn't approve of. She's still a little cuddle-bug, and Daddy's little helper.
