We were going to the library to see a demonstration about chickens, to lead up to an ongoing webcast regarding eggs-chicks-etc. Apparently I did a horrible job talking this up to Melanie, since she shouted, on the way into the library, "MOMMY, ARE WE GOING TO EAT EGGS TONIGHT AT THE LIBERRY???????"
The first step to removal from Mommy's hip. Interestingly, it's Joey who is braver in these situations (I'm learning). Melanie follows his lead in times like these. There were many moments for meltdowns, but he kept going back for more, which made his big sister follow suit. It will be SO much fun to watch this play out over the next 15 years!!
A live chicken. Right before he pooped on the floor, to ALL the kids' delight.
So mystified they are sitting on their own (cuddling on their own....with dirty pants....) watching a man with chickens. This will only last until the chicken freaks out. Then my kids will freak out louder.
Now we are watching from behind the safety of window glass. Joey wants to go back, Mel says no. Joey will do whatever Mel says. Even if it's coloring at the library while there are LIVE CHICKENS in the next room.
